From her first days as a caregiver to becoming a licensed practical nurse through grit, heart, and opportunity, Vannesa proves that with the right support, there’s no limit to how far a nursing career can soar.
Singh’s journey is a shining example of how dedication and opportunity can change a career and life. She joined BAYADA Home Health Care
— the nation’s largest independent nonprofit home health provider — in 2015 as a certified nurse aide, home health aide, and medication aide. From day one, Singh poured her heart into her work, embodying the values of compassion, excellence, and reliability.
When BAYADA launched its Advance to LPN Program, Singh didn’t hesitate. She seized the opportunity to level up her career, fueled by a full scholarship, extensive mentorship, and hands-on training offered through the program. In November 2022, she enrolled at Lincoln Technical Institute, beginning a new chapter that would challenge and inspire her in unexpected ways.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the journey for Singh? The program’s personalized coaching sessions. “I felt so blessed to have the coaching sessions,” she shares. “They were more than just guidance; they were therapeutic, like having a big momma looking out for you.”
Thanks to her resilience, drive, and the strong support system surrounding her, Singh completed the Advance to LPN Program on January 23, 2025. She didn’t stop there — she transitioned directly into BAYADA’s Nurse Residency Program, ready to put her newly sharpened skills into action. Beyond clinical proficiency, Singh says the experience empowered her with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that have transformed her ability to support both her patients and her own family.
Today, Singh continues to be a passionate advocate for the power of home health care, calling it the future of healthcare delivery. Her advice for others considering a healthcare career? “If you’re looking to start a career in healthcare, BAYADA is a great choice.
